Electricity consumption of the world has been increasing due to increasing population and production amounts, developing technology and increasing automation level. Studies show that the increase will continue in the future and the supply and demand amount should increase depending on the changing world. Renewable energy sources have become crucial due to the traditional energy sources like coal harm the environment nature and human health. Nowadays countries pay more attention to use their own resources in order to maintain their socio-economic and political independence. As awareness of clean energy increases, the usage of renewable energy sources is increasing. The investment costs of renewable energy sources are very high. For this reason, the selection of the location for renewable energy sources is a strategic decision that getting it right the first time. Different criteria are evaluated when selecting the installation location. The priorities of these criteria may be different from each other. In this study, a model was proposed for selecting the location for the installation of wind power plant via using fuzzy AHP and fuzzy Axiomatic Design methods. In the implementation phase of the model, evaluation criteria have been determined and prioritized. In the light of the evaluation criteria, 3 locations have been evaluated and the most suitable one was selected

Supplier evaluation is a significant work for a company in order to enhance productivity and profitability. When a well-managed supplier evaluation is developed, this has a significant impact on the competitiveness of the entire supply chain. By examining the literature, it was seen that a great deal of papers are related to evaluation during new supplier selection process. However, there is a scarcity of studies that evaluate performance depending on the difficulty. The purpose of this paper is to focus on performance evaluation of the suppliers that are being currently worked with. In this context, Enterprise Resource Planning usage is investigated in order to collect and track real-time data for supplier evaluation systems, especially examined small- to medium-sized enterprises. With this in mind, this study conducts a questionnaire on the small- to medium-sized enterprises. Subsequently, by referring to the results of this study, a new evaluation model with dynamic structure is developed utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning, which constantly reviews suppliers at each delivery. Moreover, the developed model has been implemented in a medium-sized machine manufacturing company, integrating it into the purchasing module of its Enterprise Resource Planning system. The managers of the company have confirmed the proposed model and the manufacturing company is continuously doing a systematic evaluation with this model, thus facilitating to attain the goals of supply chain management such as reduction of inventory cost, increasing profit margin and customer satisfaction

Product standardization has gained importance with the increase of customer demands and developments of technology. Products must be tested with measurement equipment to ensure quality standards. In quality management, the variability between products is targeted to be minimum. Products are produced at a target value with specific tolerance levels. Measurement equipment are used to confirm that the dimensions be in accordance with the required tolerance levels. The calibration of measurement equipment is crucial for acquiring certain measurements. The calibration process aims to minimize the measurement error by providing the accuracy of measurement equipment. The companies can carry out their calibration processes in the company structure for certain equipment. However, companies may need outsourcing for the calibration of complex equipment. This study includes a model to select the most appropriate calibration supplier by using the interval type-2 fuzzy Technique for Order Performance by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method. The proposed approach is presented with a case study for torque-limiting wrench calibration in an automotive company. In the case study, ten different evaluation criteria were determined from the decision-makers and the literature for the calibration suppliers' evaluation and selection. Within the scope of these criteria, three alternative suppliers (A, B, and C) were evaluated and supplier C was selected as the most suitable calibration supplier

Customer loyalty is an important issue for business enterprises to improve their market performance. It can be defined as the outcome of a customer's belief in a particular company and customer satisfaction with the company's products or/and services. Business enterprises can make strategic marketing decisions by using customer loyalty levels and manage customer relations. This research will mainly focus on determination of loyalty criteria. The second objective of the research is to prioritize the criteria set. In the proposed model, fuzzy multi-criteria decision making approaches consisting of fuzzy analytic network process and fuzzy decision making trial and evaluation laboratory methods were used to determine the customer loyalty level. A case study has been conducted in a small-medium enterprise to improve the understanding of how companies establish a customer selection strategy with customer loyalty degree. The results from this study indicate that "resistance to change", "purchase frequency" and "switching cost" are the most important criteria to determine customer loyalty

Companies need to constantly evaluate their activities in strategic planning process. These activities include all processes in the company, such as management and organization, research and development, production planning, manufacturing, post-sales services, accounting and finance. The aim of this study is to propose an evaluation model that can be used to evaluate management and organization performance for small and medium enterprises. In the proposed model, fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making approaches consisting of fuzzy analytic network process and fuzzy decision making trial and evaluation laboratory methods are used to determine the weights of performance criteria. A case study has been conducted in a small and medium enterprise for empirical evidence. From the outcome of our investigation, it is possible to conclude that "corporate communication" and "process management" are more important criteria. The most important sub-criteria are listed as, "senior management in harmony with each other", "employee requests and demands are collected periodically" and "pocket reference that includes procedures and fixed rules are available"

A fuzzy sequential model for realization of strategic planning in manufacturing firms

Strategic planning is a vital management tool for projecting the long-range business goals and is not only for big businesses, but also applicable to small businesses in spite of their limited resources. To do this effectively, organizations should determine their strengths and weaknesses. Organizations have to produce appropriate action plans to overcome these weaknesses and it is very important to prioritize the action plans according to limited resources. In the current practice, a sequential model for overcoming this prioritization problem has not been studied in the related literature. Therefore we proposed a fuzzy sequential model (FSM) to help organizations in strategic planning process. This model includes four steps which are; determining open to improvement areas (OlAs), determining the root cause, developing action plans for each root cause and determining priority of OIAs hence action plans respectively. The proposed model was applied in a local manufacturing small medium enterprise (SME) as a real world case study. Results of the case study show that relatively more prioritized OIAs for the SME are, "mid-level managers take inadequate initiatives", "failure to comply with the design calendar in Research & Development (R&D) and Product Development (P&D) processes", "small lot sizes", respectively.
